How to let other people add photos to your shared Photo Streams with iOS 7

Prior to iOS 7 you could share a Photo Stream with friends and family but they could only comment on photos and view them. It left a lot of people not wanting to use Photo Stream due to the lack of full functionality and usefulness. Luckily, iOS 7 has changed that and now allows you to let other people contribute photos too.

Here's how:

1. Launch the Photos app from the Home screen of your iPhone.
2. Under the Shared tab, tap on the Shared Photo Stream you'd like to let others add photos to or create a new shared Photo Stream if you don't currently have any.
3. Once inside that stream, tap on People along the bottom of the screen.
4. Make sure the option for Subscribers Can Post in turned to On.

That's all there is to it. Anyone you invite to that Photo Stream now has the ability to add photos to it. This is great for family members especially when on vacation or for photos of children. Just keep in mind that all users will need to be running iOS 7 or later to add photos to someone else's shared Photo Stream.

How to improve the audio quality of calls on iPhone

We've all undoubtedly been in a situation where we've had to take a call while there was lots of background noise going on around us. This can make it hard for the person on the other end to distinguish what we're saying. Luckily, iOS has some options that can help us improve call quality through noise cancellation as long as you're running iOS 7 or later. Here's how to enable the option:

Note: This may not be available for all models of iPhone. From what we're seeing and hearing, it appears to be available for the iPhone 5 and newer.

1. Launch the Settings app from the Home screen of your iPhone.
2. Now tap on General.
3. Tap on Accessibility.
4. Scroll down and under the Hearing section, enable the option for Phone Noise Cancellation.

That's it. While this isn't fool proof, it can help to reduce as much noise as possible when you're in a loud environment. This should help your caller be able to hear you better.

How to manage and delete your Mac-only iCloud docs... on iOS 7

Napkin is a Mac-only app that stores and syncs its documents on iCloud, Apple's ubiquitous online service. It has no iOS version. Nothing for iPhone. Nothing for iPad. Yet, with iOS 7, you can now drill down into Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage, select Napkin, and delete any of its saved documents with a single swipe and two taps. Same holds true for other Mac-only apps, including Apple's own TextEdit.

That's both kinda cool... and kinda scary.

How to quickly view all images in an iMessage or text thread on iPhone and iPad with iOS 7

The Messages app got a complete overhaul in iOS 7 and the changes weren't limited to just visual ones. One of the best new features of the Messages app is the ability to view all images you've received and sent in a thread in one easy to access place. Here's how:

1. Launch the Messages app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
2. Find the message thread that you'd like to view all the images in and tap on it to open it.
3. Scroll through the thread and tap on an image that you've either received or sent.
4. Now in the lower right hand corner, tap on the menu button to bring up a list of all images.

That's it. You can then tap into and view any image that you've sent or received from that person, or group of people.

As a side note, this view images screen only loads anything that's in the current loaded conversation. If you have lots of messages between you and that person, you can view even more images in that thread by performing these steps inside that message thread:

1. Tap on the time in the status bar at the top of your screen while inside the message thread.
2. Now tap on Load Earlier Messages.

Repeat the above process until you're either at the beginning of the conversation or until you feel the images you're trying to find would be contained in the loaded conversation. Then return to the view all images screen by tapping into any image and hitting the menu button again.

How to access iCloud Tabs on iPhone in iOS 7

If you own more than one iOS device, iCloud Tabs are a quick and easy way to pull up web pages you have open on another iPhone or iPad associated with your Apple ID. If you use them frequently, note that how you access them on iPhone has changed in iOS 7. Haven't figured it out yet? Here's how:

1. Launch the Safari app from the Home screen of your iPhone.
2. Tap on the new page icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
3. Here you can see all the pages you currently have open. Simply flick upwardsand underneath all your open tabs you will see a list of all the open iCloud tabs from other devices. Just tap on the one you'd like to load.

That's all there is to it. We aren't sure why Apple decided to only move iCloud Tabs on the iPhone, let alone to such a hidden area that isn't very obvious. If you're using an iPad, just tap on the cloud icon by the address bar like you've always been able to do. This is a much more obvious design choice than the relocated iCloud Tabs section on iPhone.

How to rearrange locations in the Weather app for iPhone in iOS 7

The Weather app got quite the facelift in iOS 7 and some of the ways you perform certain actions have changed. One of those is how to rearrange all the locations you have inside the Weather app. Here's how:

1. Launch the Weather app from the Home screen of your iPhone.
2. In the bottom right hand corner, tap on the list view icon.
3. Now tap and hold on the weather location you'd like to move up or down in the list.
4. Drag it to the position you'd like it to be in and then release your finger.

That's it! The Weather app will now remember the new order. Repeat this process for each item you'd like to move up or down in the list. To return to the detailed view of any location, just tap on it.

How to block specific websites from being accessed with Safari for iPhone and iPad

If you're a parent and you own an iPhone or iPad, odds are your children spend a great deal of time with them too. If you have teenagers in the house who have their own iPhone or iPads, there may be websites you want to completely block from their devices. Luckily, iOS 7 lets you easily do so. Here's how:

1. Launch the Settings app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap on General.
3. Enable Restrictions and set a passcode if Restrictions aren't already enabled.
4. Under Allowed Content, tap on Websites.
5. Now tap on Limit Adult Content under the Allowed Websites section.
6. A new section will populate towards the bottom. Tap on Add a Website...under the Never Allow section.
7. Type in the full URL of the website you'd like to block and tap Done on the keyboard.

That's it. Just repeat this process for each site you'd like to block access to. Keep in mind that if certain websites have mobile sites, you may need to block them separately. For instance, to block CrackBerry completely, you would need to block www.crackberry.com, m.crackberry.com, and t.crackberry.com since they have specified sites for tablets, smartphones, and full blown browsers.

If you find a site not blocking after enter its URL, go to that site and look in theAddress Bar in Safari to make sure you're blocking the correct URL. Copy it if you need to and paste it into restrictions.
